They will help if you have a bacterial infection - they will do nothing if you have a viral infection - except reduce the risk you get an additional bacterial infection when your immune system is somewhat compromised due to the original viral infection. Sawdust Posted August 19, 2013 Share I missed Trans this year for the same reason. Went to the doc on Thursday and got given AB. I felt much better the next day but will wait until the course of AB's are done, before training. I once did a XC race while on AB and ended up at the heart specialist. Not a lekker feeling at all. Been taking 2000mg Vit C for the past two weeks, Saline Nasal Spray, been on AB's, sinumax allergy sinus, sinuflu, Flusin. After feeling better yesterday and setting everything up for an IDT session tonight after work.,,,,the same old sore throat, ear pain and cough. Been at the dr twice. nothing seems to work.
