Cycling on R101 to Bela Bela from Pretoria

Hi

 

Has anybody ridden the above route?(road) If so how safe is it ?

 

Safety wise - is the road wide enough ?

I rode this route in 2014, as I recall, most of it was reasonable but there are a few bits that have no shoulder which were a bit scary (would guess 60% good/20% fair/20% bad), all the trucks coming past me were quite considerate and moved out or slowed down till they could but around Hammanskraal there were a few A-holes who overtook coming the other way that scared the krap out of me.

Edenglen CC ride it every year. Probably best with a vehicle following you. It is quite rough
