Bigger wheels will affect your gear ratios. You may not notice the difference or you may need a bigger cassette if it bothers you.

I have just finished moving over my components from a 26er to a 29er and yes the things i needed to replace were:

- New BB as the new frame is a Press Fit

- Longer gear cables

- New Front der as new frame was a top pull

- Obvious (wheels, fork and bearings)

 

What I do however find frustrating is my gear ratio's are killing me, I moved a triple 22,32,44 front Crank and I am finding it very difficult especially uphills so Im considering either replacing the two top rings with a 26,38 or perhaps even replacing the whole crank with a double crank at a later stage.
