riding in kathu / postmasburg?

i'm in Kathu and Postmasburg for the next week for some work at the Kumba mines. I brought my MTB along, so any suggestions where I can go for a ride in the mornings and and nice long ride on Tuesday?

There should be an old quarry or something???

Road bike isn't a good idea around there... too many trucks and unsafe roads.

for the MTB there is endless jeep track around both towns.
