crater cruise 56km not!

So I see now they just changed the distance of the race on sunday from 56km to 40km. Anybody know why? Thats a 16km distance difference! Feel a bit cheated paying marathon price for now half marathon?

It's always been touted as a half as I recall it. The Marathon 102km or whatever, is on the Saturday.

 

I have not done it in a few years, so now that it's 40km, I might just do it again, as I have less chance of falling asleep on the drive home afterwards.

Saturday is the ultra. Sunday was the full as I have it. But not email about change or anything just 16km off the route

Agree, feels like a bit of a long drive from Pretoria for 40km ride. I did drop Tim a message on the event page on The Hub.

Sundays race has always been a half marathon. Saturdays race is the ultra, but if you miss the cutoff at the big/only climb and have to take the "chicken run" it is classified as a marathon as far as I know.
