F111 Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 Today I have been to the local bike shop. There I saw a Giant TRC composite 1 and a Scott CR1 at a good price The Scott is a trade in and is R16000, the Giant is new and R21000 which is the best buy.

If these are the bikes mentioned, then The Giant would be my choice...Full Ultegra groupset The SCOTT has Shimano 105 groupset and is also secondhand...trade-in If you don't mind the 105 groupset...then maybe make them an offer of R14,000 or R15,000 for the Scott and splash the rest on a fairly good set of wheels (if you don't already have a good racing set)...The Mavic Aksiums will be good as a training wheel set...or keep the extra bucks for when you need it... Also make sure of your size on both...
