Durban to Cape Town (offroad) - route help

Help

So I’ve got nearly a month of leave coming up and need to do something.

I was thinking of cycling from Durban to Cape Town on back-roads.

I know there is the freedom trail route but I'm on a bit of a budget and that often goes through the middle of nowhere - I'll be carrying my own stuff so will need to pass shops every few days. Planning on camping most nights.

If anyone lives anywhere between Durban and Cape Town and knows of back-roads or paths that I could possibly use (and that will take me near some civilisation where I can buy supplies every now and then), then please share the details with me.

Thanks so much

Dylan and Misty are completing the Spine on Friday, they will have lots of info for you. You'll find them on twitter( @wildweyers ) and on warmshowers.

You have somewhere to stay in Prince Albert (and now you laugh at the name!)
