Kids on bikes initiative

Recent conversations with Uni, divernick and Tumbleweed got me thinking about my annual charity drive around the 24 Hour at Van Gaalens.

 

Last year I was able to raise just over R5000 for the F.O.R.A. This year I plan to do the same except the initiative will live beyond the 24 hour.

 

Most us of grew up in homes where at some point you got your first bicycle as a birthday of christmas present. I am a firm believer that all children should be given the opportunity to have a bicycle at some point in their lives.

 

This year I plan on raising funds as well as donations of all bicycles, push-bikes, JD Bugs, Plastic Scooters etc that will be cleaned up, serviced and then passed on to deserving households as presents for their children.

 

The second part will be to teach children how to ride their bicycles.

 

This is still just an idea in infancy and will be expanded on as soon as I have a little time to think about it more.

 

Any suggestions of help will be greatly appreciated.
