Phone your LBS, they'll be able to order a XL for your friend. I'm 6.2ft and the Large fits perfectly. If he's taller than 6.2ft then I'd definitely get a XL.

I'm looking for a well-priced Giant Trance for an exceptionally tall friend, 6foot-lots. I am yet to see an XL trance on the market.

Where's the best place to sneak a great deal on one? New/2nd hand/demo/older stock, doesn't matter.

Or let him have a look at a Reign. The TT length on them is the equivalent of the next size up Trance. If worried about the travel, he could then short shock the rear to reduce travel. (reduce the 200x57 shock down to a 200x51 giving about 143mm of travel)
