Reflectors on new bikes - law or not?

I recently purchased a new bike, a Giant Revel 1. Did not come with a single reflector. The other day I happened to notice the cheapo bikes at Checkers Hyper have reflectors. Should my bike have had? Is there any law regarding the sale of new bikes and reflectors?
