Update - switched wheels and the disc spun like a hero.

Took my wheel to Northcliff cycles and got a new disc put on - problem solved.

 

What? A hub thread that resulted in a problem being resolved?

Stick you old rotor on a flat surface (tiles or granite counter tops work well) and see how warped it is.

It is quite warped. Was actually shocked to see it - another lesson learnt, don't lean on the back brakes, too much heat, not enough stopping :)

 

Pah. Brakes are a waste of time. All they do is slow you down!

 

If you are a heavy break user maybe move to a bigger rotor next time? All you need is a bigger adaptor for under the caliper (and the bigger rotor of course).
