  1. This guy was part of the bikehub for 9 years with no posts. He's gonna close his account and move onto a new one I'm sure. We need to phone number posted at least.
  2. Don't underestimate the amount of time you'll be on the road. You'll have to pick up bikes likely before the owners go to work, and then drop them off at specific times as well. So you'll need to plan out your trips to the T. Or end up wasting a lot of time, that you can't really bill for. Possibly look into starting by offering a mobile repair centre close at the start of some of the popular routes, or a "supporting vehicle" service where a group can book you to follow them and help if they have issues - bicycle or legs related.
  3. The only reason they picked her is because they eliminated a guy the previous week. I tend to agree with the youtube comments. They need to keep everyone there for the entirety of the series and keep a running total. Announce the positions every week so the competitors know where they stand, and let it play out that way.
  4. Pool noodle stuck between the bikes is less R80*. *Been a while since I looked at pool noodle pricing.
  5. So where is your shop? Will you have chair out for visiting saffas? Might pop through from NL to have a look. Still deciding between this stage or the calais/dunkirk stage as that is closer to home and a mere train ride away.
  6. There was this little thing going around called COVID-19. You might've heard something about it. Anyway, it really did a number on global supply chains and stocking predications went to hell. Then, there was a ship called the Evergrande that was doing donuts in the Suez Canals that caused some further delays. These things conspired together to make things more expensive, but the cycling industry got hit hard as well.
  7. https://www.countrytrax.co.za/train Probably them. Don't know of anyone that has training that side, but I'm sure there should be.
  8. Yeah, something like that. You're a new rider still? I get that, makes these big bikes scary. Go for some basic training. I'd recommend doing an off-road course - I learned more there than on my beginner road course. They teach you how to pick it up, how to balance and all that. Will make you a much more confident rider even on the road. And, at least for the ADA one I did, you don't even need off road tires or the like.
  9. I know someone that weighs around 70KG riding a GSA behemoth. The thing is with these GS's, they don't fall over flat, so you're able to pick them up.
  10. I love these. Probably my next bike.. This or 1200GS, will see what the future holds.
  11. I think between this and the issues you've been having it's time to get a n+1 ADV bike.
  12. https://www.amazon.com/SHIMANO-ST-6700-Ultegra-Hoods-Black/dp/B0037R7MJ0 https://www.bike-components.de/en/Shimano/Hoods-for-ST-6700-p27995/ Seems to be available. Ask your LBS, or import yourself.
  13. Write down? What ancient scroll type BS is this. Obviously you note it down in whatever online identity management tool you use, this way it will eventually sync to whatever bike you use. As long as it supports the RS app store. Or, at the very least, store your settings in the cloud. Don't want to get caught in another country without your settings.
  14. Would probably help if you add in your fitness level and average speed.
  15. I mean, with a name like that, he must be a hairy finance specialist right?
  16. Didn't you say Outsurance was willing to insure after the repair? Did you not get it insured after the first crack and everyone told you it would crack again?
  17. I know for motorcycle helmets the guideline is that you replace them either up to 7 years from manufacturing date, or 5 years after first use - as the sweat and UV makes the decomposition faster. The foam is what absorbs the impact and then these get hard you aren't protected anymore. I'd rather get a cheaper helmet that I can afford to replace every 5 years than get a stupidly expensive one that I can only afford to replace every 8 or whatever.
  18. I think that to get people to really sway away from their bike shops in terms of just offering something like this would be difficult. Perhaps a better gap exists in offering supported ride assistance to groups on weekends. Example, you follow their group with spares, snacks and provide a buffer to the traffic. Groups would then rent you to support them.
  19. If they do want to a AMOLED screeen, I suspect they'll have to bring out a new range. Wouldn't make sense having to support the Fenix in a normal screen and AMOLED screen versions - as the apps would all require different layouts etc. Too much integration testing and the like there. Also, the AMOLED version would enable other benefits otherwise the screen is wasted. Probably they'll have Fenix and FenixAMO or something like that running as two separate product lines.
  20. How tall is he. Might also help knowing if a small or XL would fit better.
