I reckon the 650 cal is more accurate.Did a ride this morning using my polar.55km in 2hrs22min @ avg heart rate of 68% 1100 Cal and this afternoon a casual 30km ride in 1hr40min @ avg heart rate of 55% and only 315 cal burnt. All depends on time and work output.(intensity).Cheers and happy riding

Agree, 650 seems reasonable for 30km

Strava has export, but you have to have the paid subscription to use it

I seems anyone can export the gpx files now. I just gave it a try. Maybe they changed something.

Slighty off topic, but I find huge discrepancies in vertical ascent between data from my Garmin 500 and the Strava mobile app which many of my riding buddies use. In almost all instances, their data says they climbed twice as much meters. Eg, we all know the Argus route has about 1200m vertical gain and my Garmin was bang on. Strava mobile app shows like 2500m vertical gain for the exact same route. Anybody else experience this?

I've been doing a lot of riding with my father of late, and he is using a Garmin Edge 500 and I'm using the Strava iOS app and I've noticed the exact same thing as you. Strava seems to double the ascent. The only think I can think would explain this is if it for some bizarre reason counts the descent as well through a glitch or if its GPS mapping has incorrect elevation stats.

Whatever the case its seriously annoying.
