  1. Definitely think I will be trying out some Cadence soon. Have heard such good things.
  2. I originally posted this in the "great chain/cassestte/gears" thread, but received no response, so I'm trying again! Quick question regarding cassettes. When I purchased my first road bike last year I didn't really look too much into different cassette options, but long story short the bike I got came with a Shimano 10-speed 12-30t cassette. This was great for me, as when I bought the bike I had only been cycling a few months and my fitness was exceptionally low, so the small gears helped me get up hills and let me spin when I was tired. However, 9 months later I am a lot fitter and consistently doing over 150/200km a week and I find that I am now using the 30t just because it is there and I feel it may be hampering my improvement. I also feel that I am "missing" a gear or two in the middle of the cassette. I have looked into options and it seems that my only real options are an 11-25t or 12-27t. I'm a little scared of going to a 25, as I may struggle and not enjoy it, but investing in a new cassette is not something I want to do regularly, so wonder if the 27t would be too easy after a while. Any advice would be great! Thanks.
  3. ^^^ Correct. Overuse injuries. Especially if you are training harder than usual and your body isn't used to it.
  4. Bike fit could be the issue. I saw you previous thread about buying a new bike recently. Did you have it set up professionally for you? If not you could be getting knee because of a bad fit.
  5. Was under local anaesthetic. Had the option of general, but was too pricey and according to the doctor was not really necessary in my case.
  6. I think another big issue with bike shops and their service is that there is no general consensus amongst customers. I have seen numerous threads like this where a couple of people rave about one place, then others say it is the worst. Then somebody says somewhere else is great, then somebody says they are useless. Finding a shop that works for you is definitely trial and error (which it sadly shouldn't be).
  7. Haha. Thanks a lot. I really appreciate it. Will probably wait until next weekend Monday before I ride again, but will assess it all as I go.
  8. Was given to prevent infection. I haven't actually be sick in about 2 years. Pride myself on being healthy, so the mere fact I am on antibiotics is rather distressing for me.
  9. They AB I was given is called Zoxil 500. After reading the little pamphlet with it, it seems that it contains Amoxycillin. Anyone know much about this?

Copperhead, that for me is totally unacceptable. Especially considering he was there with his daughter. People can't be bringing up their children as racists in this day and age. As a cyclist I am shocked by his aggressive attitude towards us, but as a human being I am shocked by him full stop.

If you read further down his page there is some serious racism, which I don't appreciate. This guy obviously isn't a very nice human being.

The whole car vs. cyclist hatred seems to be getting worse. I am seeing a lot of this online lately. It isn't restricted to SA either. We are cyclists need to be more vigilant than ever, as I assure motorists aren't being vigilant. EDIT: I think a huge fear for me is that you see people write threats like this, but in the back of your mind you think they are idle threats, but I doubt they are in this day and age. Sad times for us cyclists.
