Does anyone have any experience with these wheels? Specifically the Flowtrail wheels - reading up on the web it seems that the freehub seems to self destruct after a worryingly short distance.

Or should I stretch the budget a little and get American Classic 29er wheels?

I have a set that are before the flowtails. Light, strong and no issues with the Freehub. Value for money and I have done Attakwas, Baviaans and stage races just to name a few.

Novatech Flowtrail in 29" and they are awesome. A bit heavier [100 g difference] than initially advertised but they are truly impressive. Done maybe about 6 races on them and all I hear is the steady buzz of the hub. No issues with buckling or anything.

FYI I put mine on a Momsen Alu hardtail and that I am 92kg so they are tested well... :D

Another thing to remember is to buy rim tape because the liner it comes with will not get you to a tubeless conversion. The wall of the rims are quite aggressive as the tyres seated with a foot pump.
