The guy in the video that I took the screenshot from heated the rim with a blowtorch, which would weaken it, if it was heat treated during manufacturing?

The dents on my wheel aren't deep enough on mine to be an issue, so I'll leave them, for now. The spacing makes me think they're from riding down some stairs.

Certainly the most elegant solution I've seen to try and repair dings in the rim edge.

The dings themselves are cosmetic unless they prevent tubeless sealing, or if it's really bad and the rim bed has a dent, also preventing sealing.

The other issue is that when you bend alloy "back" it weakens that area.
Also if the impact was hard enough, it could flat-spot the rim, making it impossible to fix.
