Hi Guys/Gals

A new and total noob here needing some advice. I recently bought a 26" Giant Revel 0 XL 2013. Got the bike for a great price and suits me. So far I have:

1.) Changed the grips for some ESI's (Stocks were ripping my hands apart)

2.) Stuck on some decent bar ends (To help with wrist strain)

3.) Got some Shimano M530's on (Might as well learn quick)

However having not checked review first I didn't realise the shock was quite so.......not awesome. So my questions are:

1.) What's the best option to replace it with? Have seen some great second hand deals but no clue on steerer tube length etc.

2.) Can I just take the standard Kenda tires to tubeless and replace them if they die, or should I invest in some decent tubeless tires?

I'll propably never sell the bike even if I do upgrade so don't mind spending a little bit of cash.

Thanks everybody for an awesome forum as well.

Fork - Correct, that fork is a donkey. Find yourself a second hand Rockshox. A Recon or a Reba will do you well. Resist the urge to try to get longer travel, it'll cause issues with handling if you add more than 10mm or so to the front end, and probably also void the warranty on the frame.

Tyres - give the tubeless a shot with the current tyres - shouldn't be an issue. At worst you'll need to get new ones.
