After struggling with numbness/pain in the toes of my left foot for some time due to a narrow shoe/toe box, my Podiatrist recommended the Shimano M088 MTB shoe as a possible solution.

The shoe is advertised as a "wide fit last for riders with high insteps or high volume feet".

I fitted various sizes of this shoe at my local bike shop but could not feel a real difference in width or toe box space.

The box indicates a M088L.

After further research on the internet I noticed that reference is also made to M088LE or M088E for the wide last shoe.

Could someone from Shimano perhaps provide clarity on this?

Titian, I have WIIIIIIIIIIIIIDE feet that struggle to fit into "normal" shoes and I found my shimano mtb shoes to be most comfortable. Occasional numbness is easily rectified by loosening the Velcro straps slightly.

Mine shoes are also MO88 (I think) but they have three Velcro straps (ie no "click"/ratchet strap).

L indicates its a Black shoe.

W would mean Black and White

S would mena Black and Silver.

E could be that is it from the European Distribution and sized accordingly.

As far as I know, all the M088 range is a wide toe box shoe
