Finding a new bike

Evening guys,

 

I am looking at buying a road bike I have always been a MTB kind of guy but I've been roped in to doing some rather long road races over the next year or so. I'm not looking for anything too fancy just an entry level bike for now. I'm looking at spending between 6-8k. If you guys have any suggestions it would be much appreciated. I'm more of a weekend warrior at best, so I'm not looking for anything to try win the tour on.
