MTB Trails at Sterkfontein Dam (Qwantani)

Going next week to Quantini next week... Looking to do a ride or two...  If you have the routes that would be great... I going to see what I can find.

Been 3 years since I was there, but refer to the Strava heat map below - basically you have 3 options to explore. 

 

Quantani is at A

 

B is a steep, rideable dead end mountain climb up to the OFS border (following the blue line). You can maybe take a track NE from B to make this into a loop - using this option the lower section is nice, but you'll have to walk down some sections when you descend off the plateau. There is a path down from the top, but it can be tricky to get on to it.

 

CDEF is a route on district roads, following the service road on the way home.

 

There are 2 OK if sometimes scrambly pathways leading south from the point D - neither will take you anywhere, but you can again climb and descend them as out-and-back options.

 

Try Strava route builder if you want to take gpx's with you

Shot bud, Also found https://www.drakensbergtrails.co.za/

 

They seem to have a few cut out trails, but will have to figure out if I can cycle there, I try use Strava or Garmin Connect
