Merida Mountain bike stolen at Century City, Cape Town

Hi All,

 

My bike was stolen on 11 April in the evening at century city. It was locked with 2 locks, to my husband's bike and the rack. They left my husbands bike unlocked and took mine. CCTV footage shows 4 black males, heading in the direction of Kensington. The bike is 26 inch mountain bike - Merida, silver in colour with a white 'fizik' techno-gel saddle. The shocks have a remote lockout mounted on the left hand side of the handlebar and the frame size is 16 inch, small, I think.

 

Police and Zonewatch (private security company with CCTV in the area) have been very helpful.

 

Please help me to look out for it!

Bummer. Does the CCTV not show how they got the lock off? Was it cut somehow? I'm sorry but I think the security is slapg&t if they did'nt pick it up on camera immediately and respond to incident.

Why would they leave your husbands bike? If there were 4 guys plenty hands to take 1 more bike?

Don't know why they left his bike - maybe because they couldn't ride or it looked less attractive with a bike rack on the back and mud guards.The guy on CCTV was pretty unsteady, like he didn't really know how to ride. Camera's not on the exact spot where it was stolen so we're not sure if they cut the bike locks or picked the lock somehow.
