Anybody do this race this weekend?

Was as ussual an awesome race but would like to know if anybody also had a bad experience with the timming company? Espesially the the very arrogant rude red headed lady?

At one stage I was watching the four of them for about 5 minutes. Two of them were busy on their phones. One was scanning thru a pile of pappers and Red Head Lady was scanning the crowd almost as if she was looking for a fight. In that 5 minutes they manage to miss 7 riders comming in.

Had a mate ride solo and they neglected to count 2 laps durring the night. They bluntly refussed to give it to him. Only after we spoke to the race comusiare and showed him the milage on his gps they gave to to him with a bit of lip.

Our team had a bit of inside compition for most consistant lap times. So we logged every lap with time on endomondo and strava and wrote it down on a white board. Same story. Their count and ours was different.

 

So I would like to hear who else had a bad experience?

There are way more advanced companies out there that can do this with a chip system. Yes it cost more but Im sure the riders will pay the extra R50 person if it means not dealing with the very abusive red headed lady again.

 

This event has been running now for 10 years. I am sure next year it will be bigger and better again. Please! Upgrade the timming system and get rid of the red headed dragon!

I was there.

She is a real monster of a lady. Heard numerous issues with lap counts and some guys even getting some additional laps added.

I also think a chipped timing/lap counting system would be better. Less chance for error and disputes.
