Yeah, he's probably moved into the dealer channel now.

Apparently he was targeting the records for climbs like the Ventoux etc as a publicity stunt. So he was obviously stocking up on some chemical help.

Yeah, but that was too many doses for just him I reckon.

If you've read "The Secret Race" you'll realize that thirty doses is nothing, most probably about 1 month's supply for two guys. And knowing him, he'd take the maximum safe-ish dose and there's no doping testers to worry about either.

This is true. I momentarily forgot we were talking about the cobra.

What are you talking about?

He's serving pretty much a life ban after the kitchen transfusion incident, and here he is buying drugs again.

This isn't about who's doping.

What I mean, is this isn't a cyclist doping story. This guy isn't a pro cyclist anymore. This is a 'tard doing 'tard stuff story.

Uhm he was with a current pro cyclist?

Who?

former professional Matteo Cappè

And, B) the story is about Ricco, not the other minor participants at the Mickey D's parking lot.

The original post said "with another local professional". Didn't do research. Sorry.

The tread is about cyclists doping. I posted about doping. My point was that everybody is going on about him as if he's the only one, but he's not.

What's your point?

That there are many, many threads about doping in cycling, doping in accountancy, doping in religion. For me, this is about a guy that is so far off the rails he will never compete in any sport again, and he's still involved in the doping side of life.

My point, is that it's well known that "everyone dopes", what doesn't seem to be well known is the long term effects. Like this guy. Like Pantani. Like the many unexplained deaths and suicides of former pro riders suffering from the after effects of doping.

This matter highlights it, and simply saying: "he's not the only one" does nothing to bring the issues to light, and does even less to protect the people in the sport.

I think we're actually on the same page. But I think what you are saying is that I hijacked this thread a little. Apologies.

So let me get back to this thread... what a chop!

To state he was with a 'current pro' might be overselling it. Matteo Cappi is 37, was a pro in 2003 / 2004 and currently does some riding on the Italian domestic Grand Fondo circuit.

As for the whole 'everyone's doing it' or not. I don't think I can stomach another thread descending into pit of negativity about the sport.
