32t sprocket on 105

Can you fit a 32t sprocket on a 105 rear derailleur? This is a 9-spd setup but I do not know if it is long/short or medium cage.

 

If this is not possible, would there be any reason that a 9-spd Acera rear derailleur wouldn't work with 9-spd 105 STI's?

Google says no. 27t max.

 

9sp with 9sp will work fine, you can mix and match.
