Brian Wilson Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 New in town and looking for the safest route from Pinetown (4 Ways Spar area) down to the beach and back. Can anyone help me out with this please?
Stretch Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 good luck on that - i reckon a lot of suburban roads would be required....from pinetown to westville, I would look at blair atholl road (or whatever its called now..roger something?) and then from there not sure
Tayyib Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Just my thoughts of an enjoyable ride...I would take the cowies hill road into westville,from there get onto jan hofmeyer road,and work your way down to the M13 rockdale interchange,take essex terrace and travel parralel to the M13,yo can then join onto the M13 for about 1.5km.(There is a large shoulder)..from there I would ride down through sparks road(busy area so be cauios).from here you can go over the ridge and straight dowm towards the beach ot turn left onto brickfield and travel down to umgeni road and from there head towards the beach front....I'd recommend the same route back....safest,most direct route I can think of.good luck... P.S hope my directions make sense.
JASON ZN Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 (edited) I ride from northdene to gateway and back 83km threw queensburgh the old way main road to southway mall then along umbilo road them up the esplanade to beach front and then threw durban north and the u come out by mnet mutichoise and then past gateway down into umhlanga rocks and next to the m4 back to beach front then the same route back home.most Sundays we do it at 4am roads are quiet Edited May 28, 2014 by NOFEAR-ZN
