Giant anthem 27.5 Carbon vs Alu

Just want to get some opinions on this. The carbon version is 10-12k more expensive and I am wondering how much of that gets felt on the ride. I have only ever ridden an alu anthem and a carbon XTC.

Speaking of the XTC, does anyone else seem to think that the pricing of the new 27.5 versions seem some what out of kilter when compared to the anthems and the 29er xtc???

 

Thoughts?

 

I am deciding between the xtc, alu anthem and carbon anthem. Keen to try 27.5.

If memory serves me right the anthem Advanced(carbon) has an Ali rear triangle. Why not look at a vipa which is full carbon? Also it's designed in conjunction a certain SA builder called Patrick...

Not really worth it IMO. It's unfortunately the carbon bike you will lose quite a bit of money on in the 2nd had market one day.

 

It has an alu rear tri and weight saving is minimal over the already very light full alu version.
