Nice one man! That's a good buy.

As HeyYou said, don't paint the bike as it's anodised alu. Find a blue marking pen (koki) pen that matches the colour of the bike and colour in the scratches.

For the lugs take a cloth and Brasso carefully and the lugs will become shiny again.

Please post before and after pictures on the Retro Bike thread.

Sorry but a bit late on this thread, but to check year of manufacture there should be a stamp on the seat tube lug indicting month and year it was produced. I still have my ALAN from 1982 :D

In those days it was 'THE BIKE' to ride, probably like a Spez or a Pinarello these days.

I used to live at the coast and spent days polishing those blerrie alu lugs to get them all shiny.

Teach you to ride it up and down the beachfront all the time... in all weathers... wind and all...

I would rather you paint my rims Candy Apple Red :D

Please go pick a color out... - then we can clearcoat rims and lugs at the same time....

Marouns group.... - 500ml will be more than enough of colour and clear - 300ml if they supply that small amounts
