yet another which bike topic - girls 24" MTB

so here we have yet another thread

 

shes turning 10 in december, looking at the 24" mtbs out there they seem to be around 3k (with near enough the same spec)...

 

and now the conundrum... should I go for this or an xs 26"?

 

she loves her brothers bike (and is always hounding him to ride it ), but its too big for her (S).

 

she's not much shorter than him (3 inches), and I haven't done inseam measurements etc.... but from you good folk who have faced the same dilemma, do I go 24" and flog (in 1-2 yrs), or xs 26"?

 

if she rides her brothers small, we have to lower the saddle to about an inch from the bottom (to give some reference)

My daughter migrated to an xs 26er at 11. If your girl can fit her brothers small, then an xs should be fine. You can always fiddle with stem length etc

I put my daughter straight on a 26 from a 20. I had to cut the seat post so it would go all the way to the bottom, but she loves it. At that age they grow so fast, not worth an in-between bike.

i see you in GP. whereabouts. I have my daughters old 24" if you want to let your daughter try it for size?
