Eventually, I had to buy a new set of pads....NOTHING else worked! they were FUBAR!!

So i sanded the rotors till dull...and bedded new set of pads in...

PERFECT!!!  GOOD as the day i bought my bike...

still dunno where that oil/contamination had come from...

Yeah, sometimes you just have to bite the bullet.

Glad they are working perfectly again!

Blow-Torch pads.... works a charm. I see u used some petrol I have heard that does work as well but for myself i am hesitant to add more contaminant to it inadvertently. Glad the new brakes pads work!

I had the same issue on my front brake after replacing the pads, eventually figured out that the pad was not correctly lined up with the rotor (see basic pic for reference), basically just under a millimeter closer to the centre of the rotor than what it should be, causing a lip on the outside of the rotor and also running over the (not sure of the correct terminology) splines/fins that head to where the disc is attached to the hub. Two really thin spacers to move the brake away ever so slightly away to line it all up (see second pic) and absolutely no noise.

Thank you

this has saved me from going nuts. My back brakes have been making a noise, done the cleaning, sanding, aligning etc etc. But I missed this trick. Shimmed it up and bobs your uncle fixed

Thanks again

I was very positive that the petrol set on fire will work...but it did not...
