Johan and the team were asking for suggestions on the timing system at Enduro 1 this weekend.

A few weeks ago we did the 12Hr Endurance Karting race in Vereeniging, with so many teams, and at night time it was really hard to keep track of who's who and how everyone was doing.

Another guy from the pit next door showed us something really cool : Race Monitor, an app that you could download and keep track of everyone's progress, fastest times, leading team, lap number etc etc.

This transformed spectating into something great, as a spectator you can now know exactly whats going on instead of seeing a bunch of karts.

The series is called Super Single Series, let me know if you would like me to find out what timing system they use.

I'm sure the usual chips (JUMA, 94.7 etc) could be used?

So anyways, that's my recommendation.

It means even us racing can pull our phones out on the mountain and see how we are doing!

Pretty nifty, check it out...

this has got to be the future... although terrain & signal strength are key.  Be great to do some calibrating with a live system

Problem with this is that this is just a spctator app - you need to purchase the timing systems that go along with this - and they are specific MyLaps, Westhold, or MotoSponder timing system via the RMonitor protocol.

I am currently looking at MyLaps and another system SportIdent for timing our Enduros.

We are looking to purchase a system that can be used around SA specific to Enduro.
