CMK Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 Friday, December 12 Its that time of the year again, where we will be hosting our annual christmas ride to the Jacaranda Children's Home in support of their annual fundraiser.We decided to give our ride this year a new addition and theme, by ending the National 16 Days of Activism against Women and Child abuse and pay an extra visit to the Sinoville Crisis Centre at the Sinoville SAPS who serves the community by assisting with emotional and sometimes physical support of abused community members, not only locally but much further than the Sinoville Jurisdiction.Dress up your bikes and yourself, if you don't dress like some christmas character, then put on a dress and a wigg and dress up like a women or a child to help us stat...e a message, that we as a cycling community will not tolerate the abuse of our women nor our kids.In support of this, we as the Maniyak Cycling Club will donate some much needed furniture as well as a printer to the Crisis Centre and we would like to encourage everyone to bring one of the following items along as a donation to either the crisis centre or the Childrens Home.Childrens Home: A Toothbrush (This is the much needed necessities which most people forget to donate and easy to carry on your bike!Crisis Centre: A Bar of Soap (As contribution to their rape kits which they prepare for the victims)Remember entrance to the Jacaranda Childrens Home is R10pp.This is for the entire family and those who won't or can't cycle, are more than welcome to follow us in their cars in convoy.Remember there's lots of food and drinks for sale at the Childrens Home, so please show your support and prepare to have your supper there in this festive environment instead of at home!Those who wish to leave their cars at the shop, kindly note there is 24hr security and the cards will be locked behind the gate until you return!ROUTE/PROGRAMME:GATHER AND PREPARE FOR THE RIDE AT MANIYAK CYCLES, IN MONTANA VALUE CENTRE (OPPOSITE BUILDERS WAREHOUSE IN ZAMBESI ROAD)RIDE IN NORTHERN DIRECTION IN BREEDT STREET, LEFT INTO BOUGAINVILLA STREET, LEFT INTO ENKELDOORN STREET AND RIGHT INTO ROOIBOS STREET, CONTINUE TO DR SWANEPOEL AND TURN LEFT, RIGHT INTO 6TH AVENUE. LEFT INTO VERONICCA AND RIGHT INTO AZANA STREET. LEFT INTO JAN BANTJIES AND RIGHT INTO WATSONIA STREET, CONTINUE UNTIL YOU TURN LEFT TO THE SINOVILLE SAPS.HALFWAY STOP AT SINOVILLE SAPS TO VISIT AND MAKE DONATIONS TO THE CRISIS CENTRE.
