MTB Options around Worcester

Hi I am going to be in Worcester with my wife next week. We will be taking MTB bikes and hope to get time to do some cycling. She is just getting back on the bike after a few weeks layoff due to illness so we wont try anything hectic. Our interest is more "scenic rides through vinyards" and maybe "jeep track climbs to view sites" than gravity powered single track adventures.

Any suggestions? What should we be aware of in terms of permits and entry fees. Are there any sources of information like local club websites. What are the options around Brandvlei Dam?

Thanks in anticipation of any useful feedback.

I found some GPS tracks on Google from that area. Any idea what the access requirements are?

Also looking at Stetyn's Kloof. Is that an open regional road or do you have to negotiate your way through gates?

Lastly it looks like a drive to Slanghoek should be worthwhile.

There are some routes behind the casino that can be seen as you drive the N1 past Worcester, haven't ridden them yet but have spoken to the manager at the casino about access. No permits etc needed, you can access the trails on the casino premises. They arent marked AFAIK.

We use to live on a farm on that Stetyns Kloof road and use to see alot of people cycling up to the dam along that route. The road is a private road past the Dwarsberg Trout reserve that may require you to get permission from the farmer to keep everything civil. Not the most exciting riding but a nice view of the dam if you go up onto the dam wall. There was one gate on that road but a pedestrial gate is there to bypass it as far as i can remember

Another option would be to ride out towards Robertson on tar and turn off onto gravel at the Nuy valley wine route, there is a gravel district route that runs past a place called Saggy Stone Pub. Awesome little place that makes great food and their own beer...might be a long ride home on a full stomach though
