It can be repaired. I have a rim that the same has happened with and had it repaired. It has been four years no issues. It was a carbon rim I had repaired.

Dont ride it. Although it might look superficial i can assure you the integrity of the rim has taken some strain in that area from the constant heat on it. Rather replace it.

I am no carbon expert but I have used it a fair amount in the past. 

If the wheel was exposed to temp above its post cure temp (85'c i think) it would have lost all its structure.

 

What I'm saying is I would serious consider not riding with that wheel, but as I said, I'm no expert.

Careful Eddie. I hope you are not referring to the Budnitz as old fashioned. You could be thrown in jail for such a reckless statement.
