SABIEMTB Posted March 18, 2015 Author Posted March 18, 2015 IMPORTANT NOTICE!!TO:All Entrants and Prospective Entrants to the 2015 SABIE XPERIENCE MOUNTAIN BIKE STAGE RACEPLEASE NOTE REVISED DATES!!!! Friday 1MAY to Monday 4May 2015Because of the poor weather experienced in December annually, the organisers have changed the date of the race to May. The original dates (3 May to 6 May) were determined not to clash with other events in the area.For various reasons, it has been agreed, for 2015, to move the stage race two days earlier, and incorporate the traditional Forest2Falls MTB Challenge (normally held in April) as a one day race from the same venue on Saturday 2 May.For many prospective entrants wanting to enter the both the Sabie Xperience and the Forest2Falls this may be more convenient and come as a relief in terms of travelling and not having to take as many leave days off work or school. In a nutshell, the Sabie Xperience Registration will now take place from 13h00 - 21h00 on Thursday 30 April at Floreat Riverside Lodge to allow for entrants traveling from afar, with racing on the following days:Stage 1 (Prologue TT over 32km) on Friday 1 May from 08h30 – 14h00.Stage 2 (51km – all Sabie X categories) on Saturday 2 May from 07h00Stage 3 (43km Team Lite, 59km Solo Challenge, 66km Team Tough) on Sunday 3 May from 07h00 with prize giving ay 14h00.Stage 4 (62km Team Tough Only) on Monday 4 May from 07h00 with prize giving at 14h00. For those cyclists who have already entered the Sabie Xperience, and booked your accommodation or camping, please do not delay in amending your dates. If you have any problems with this please contact the Race Office and we will see how we can assist. Note: The incorporation of the traditional Forest2Falls one day event on Saturday 2 May at the same venue allows for family members not into taking part in stage races, to travel with the Sabie Xperience participants and participate in their own event of choice – 51km, 35km or 16km Fun Ride over great, but challenging, scenic routes in the Komatiland Spitskop and Ceylon areas.Late entries and Registration for the Forest2Falls will take place on Thursday afternoon, Friday from 14h00 to 20h00, and Saturday morning from 05h00 to 06h30.Proceeds from the Forest2Falls will, as usual, go towards the Shalom Christian School in Graskop.Please support us in this initiative. The intention is for the Forest2Falls event to return to the Mac Mac Forest Retreat in 2016, when the affected plantation areas will have had time to be re-established and the roads rehabilitated after the harvesting operations.
