Ok so to give an update. I got some extra clothes, especially a few things for winter. I got what I think are a pair of decent shoes and I bought a second hand bag from the classifieds.

Has anyone ever bought second hand shoes or clothing? Shirts maybe but bibs... That's like wearing someone else's jocks :-o

Who does or doesn't wear sunglasses for mtb riding? Pros and cons?

What was wrong with your first handbag that you had to get a second handbag?

WRT sunglasses you can also get D'Arcs.  quite cheap and strong as hell.  about R250.  Can also change lenses as you need.

It's very important to be fashion conscious. I felt that my first handbag just didn't go well with the colours on my bike.

D'Arcs, any specific shops I can go take a look?

GF bought me the Polarized version for Christmas. They are great value and fit very snug and comfortably.

Has anyone seem or looked at D'Arcs photochromatic lenses? Looks quite cheap but I'm worried about the strength of the glasses and possibly the switching time from dark to light.

Seem quite a bargain when compared to the price of the other brand names out there.

I did not like my D'Arcs. The way they rested on my face they collected all my sweat. It sucked they fogged up because of that and seeing was nightmare at some points. This said getting glasses that work is not always as easy as it seems :)

I don't think you can blame the brand for that. Also which model did you use?

Ive had my D'Arcs for about 3 years now and still happy. [emoji13]

Don't buy anything from Mr Price, you'll do one ride with it and that stick will never wash out of those tops.

I assume you mean stink. Don't know about Mr Price stuff but that applies to First Ascent tops. Jeez those things hone.

As you are not supposed to rinse your cycling stuff with fabric freshener, rinse it with white distilled vinegar and hang outside to dry.

If that does not work.....  But of sunlight liquid to dissolve the grime.
