I'm a weekend rider looking to start and am asking for help with regards to the "right" bike. Budget is between R 5000 and R 7500. I have looked at Merida, Titan, Giant and Scott. I welcome all opinions and suggestions. Also, where do i go for the best deal?

The most important thing is to know your size and get a mate who is knowledgeable to have a look see before you buy. I would not go 26" as you will get an entry level bike for your budget and it will be a lot easier to sell and trade up if you have a trendier wheel size.
J∆kk∆ls Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 What ever you buy, try and ride it first. At that budget you cant really go wrong. If you fall in love with riding you will spend a lot more money in the future, if you dont you haven't lost that much. 26er's are cheaper and the wheels are generally stronger. (and super fun to ride )29er's are fast and have better resale value than 26er's since they are so popular.(also fun to ride ) Whatever you get ride what makes you happy! Welcome to the hub
