Wheelie87 Posted February 15, 2017 Share Specialized Camber 29 vs Camber Comp 29 So what's the verdict: https://www.specialized.com/za/en/men/bikes/mountain/trail/camber-29/115406 or https://www.specialized.com/za/en/men/bikes/mountain/trail/camber-comp-29/115520 Is the difference really worth the odd R10k (for someone like me)? Also new to the game Bought a Specialized Hardrock just to start out with four months ago to see what all the hype is about.Immediately fell in love with the trails and more tech than XC after getting stitches in my elbow second time out at G-spot (Stellenbosch)Haha Obviously now I know I need something more than the Hardrock (awesome entry level bike btw after upgrading handlebars/tyres/brakes and I will definitely be keeping it) So I'm ready for my new longer term bike, but still on a tight budget, thus the begging question: Specialized Camber 29 vs Camber Comp 29 !?! Thanks guys!
GLuvsMtb Posted February 15, 2017 Share The short answer is yes, the difference is noticeable between the two. The Revelation on the Comp is in a different league, the 2 x 11 will mean you walk a lot less, and the Roval wheelset is much better than the Spesh-branded ones on the cheaper model. For comparison also consider something like the Trek Fuel EX 9.7. JXV
Spock Posted February 15, 2017 Share Buy the Comp. You're going to regret buying the entry level model.... JXV and Dexter-morgan
Bigjim Posted February 15, 2017 Share I reckon you should buy the best you can afford - then when you upgrade, you have a good frame to hang everything onto. I would (and have myself) go with the carbon comp
JXV Posted February 17, 2017 Share it will cost more to eventually upgrade the fork (and you will) and some other components. Rather get the Comp Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
