Anyone going to ride the Karkloof Classic MTB race this weekend?

I am excited yet worried.  I fell badly 2 months ago and popped my shoulder badly and am not feeling 100% confident getting back on the MTB and riding technical trails.

Any idea how technical the 20km and 40km routes are at Karkloof?

I am excited as I have never ridden Karkloof before and it is ranked the best MTB course in SA so that should be a treat.

Does anyone know if the Karkloof Farmers Market going to be on Sunday with the race?  I am thinking of bringing my wife and kids and hope there are enough activities to keep them entertained while I am riding.

The length of the events also determine the technicality of the event to a certain extent. The 10km is primarily fire road, the 20km a mix of fire road & shortish sections of moderate/easy single track, the 40km some fire road and some single track with moderate/technical sections and the 60km is similar in technicality to the 40km but with some decent climbs thrown in for good measure.

That said all of the 'technical sections' can be rolled (I obviously don't know your technical ability so I can not comment on how you'll get on).

WRT the KK farmers market. It is independent of the race and is only open on Saturday mornings. Definitely worth a visit if you can stop in
