Product Description

This is an amazing head lamp. It has the power of a super bright cycle light but is designed to be comfortably used as a head lamp. The battery pack is the same weight as the head lamp thus balancing the weight on one’s head. This ensure’s the user to be perfectly comfortable even after hours of wearing the Extreme 1000 Head lamp.

Have a look at our Headlamp Comparison section for more detail about fixed reflector and zoom type lights.

Product Description

The following outstanding features are unique to this head light.

The new generation Cree XM-L2 Led. 20% more efficient that its predecessor.
Most advanced Li-ion cells. 50% more power density than standard li-ion battery technology.
Super wide flood. The Zoom lens has been designed to give you the widest beam possible. Rivaling that of reflector based lights.
The Extreme 1k Zoom head light has the widest flood mode that we have come across in a zoom type light. In flood mode the beam is smooth and uniform, which is ideal for illuminating the first 10m ahead of you. As with most zoom lights it is not very efficient with concentrating light, but it does provide a more focused beam than fixed reflector type lights. Have a look at our Headlamp Comparison section for more detail about fixed reflector and zoom type lights.

Package was delivered the day after I placed the order – kudos to Extreme Lights! The headlamp is of good quality. It makes it so easy to do mountain-biking in the dark – it definitely gives you an edge over the competitor who struggles to see where he is going!

I will try and post pics tomorrow but I use the headstrap and just stretch it over my helmet, after removing the peak.

Works great, I keep the battery in the top pocket of my backpack but a longer cable would let you mount it to the bike frame.

I wish cycling helmets came with the mounting clips that rock climbibg helmets have. These retain headlamp straps against quite severe movement. I use my climbing helmet when night riding if I want a headlamp to supplement my bar mounted light. Head mounted lights are great for seeing further into corners than a bar mounted lamp can do.

thanks for the feedback Steven !!!

Re: JXV... you are so right on the extra light on ones head vastly improves your ride at night as you have both light where needed (bike front and where you look).
