Spectacular sunny weather and a closely fought team competition ensured that the 12th edition of the LONDON-PARIS was the hottest yet! With only a couple of minutes separating the top 3 teams at the end of Stage 2, G!RO managed to secure victory over Bulk Hardware and Skoda in the 20km yellow race section of the final stage to Paris.

Well Done Shameeg S

Was lucky enough to have ridden the event with Shameeg, he was a super star, flying the SA high.

If it was not for day 1 where he lost time due to breaking spokes (ridding in Alex in the break), he would most likely have taken yellow as well.

A further point to note is Alex Otto is also a SAFA, who was third overall and 1st Master (Vet as we know them).

The true honour was getting to ride with Roche at 58, he was showing the lighties that a old dog doesn't forgets it's tricks.

HotChillee development rider from South Africa Shameeg Salie, riding for team Wattbike (on loan from Lights by Linea) succeeded in winning both the red climber and green sprint jerseys. He was singled out by Tour de France legend Stephen Roche as “one to watch”.

Keep it up.!

Shameeg is a Legend in the making but as humble as you can find. Very focussed, determined and goal driven individual with a love for cycling that I've seen growing in the last few months. He can take a knock (broken spokes and all) and will never quit until the race is over.

He is extremely humble with that shy smile but when on the bike he shows a different cunningness to outwit the best of riders on the local WP scene as well as international scene.

He has done SA proud in the London-Paris race and I'm sure there is many more to come.

Simply AWESOME.
