Great device,  705's definitely on my to get list.

305 cost's less than Polar 725 but has more functionality and very easy to operate. No worrying about speed sensors not picking up, finnicky downloading to PC, and battery unit replacing and adjusting wheel sizes when changing bikes. Only down side i can see is the limited battery life before the unit needs to be charged.

Scotty, The battery life is now rated at 15 hours

(1200 mAh Li-Ion, up from 900 mAh on the 305)

Also, if you turn off the GPS, and only use the other functions (as avaialble on a polar for instance) the battery life goes up by magnitudes.

I'll try do some field testing, but I don't often go out for 15 hour rides during the week :-)

I've heard that the problem with the 305 is that its distance measuring is not particularly acurate. Has anybody experienced this or would its accuracy be on a par with the Polar or any other trip computer for that matter.

Battery life never worried me but will remember to switch GPS off when i do repetitive routes, i usually can go Mon - Fri, then pop it in to charge for the weekend.

JasonW mine is pretty accurate comparing it to my Cateye, which was accurate to my Polar i used before.

Nope no signal loss yet, only have occasional high HR reading. I ride with mine fitted to my bars but i know some riders put their's in their camelpack mesh pockets.
