very interesting, and although I did not read through all of it, what I find lacking in the power of the mind. You can be as fit as you will ever be, but if you got into an extreme long endurance race with the wrong mindset you might as well stay at home. I have done a few of the smaller 400km races and also the bigger 2000km plus races with very little preparation beforehand, but it was for me a mind game. It is very easy to give up when you sit under a tree in the middle of the night after you already done 100+ over tough terrain and you got another 80km before you to get to a check point, but you will regret that for a very long time after the fact. I am not a racer anymore and my aim is to finish these long events in the allocated time given and with as much fun as you can possibly have with your pants on. There is such a thing as over preparing and for me under-preparing makes it more fun and challenging. But if your aim is to set records and break all Strava segment then you better start training your body and mind.

PedalWorks Somerset West. They rather repair than replace. My WTB rear hub failed a few weeks ago and recommendation by "a" bike shop on the trail was that the hub needs replacing. It actually only needed a proper service and nice new bearings.

You need a bike , some water bottles and clean clothes.

This topic is so old I cannot recalled if I had an opinion but initially I would have given it the thumbs down. But I joined a very relaxed group of mtb'ers here in town with a lot of older people and slow riders. Also lots of these E Bike things. Since I don't know alot of how these bikes worked I prepared myself for a very fast ride trying to stay with these beasts. Turned out that the riders of these bikes don't want to be riding out in the front of even race you up a hill but simply want to also be out there and not be afraid of not keeping with the group or holding up everybody. So there is definitely place for them on the mountains and trails. But it will be a long time before I swop the single speed for one of these things.

Normally when you build a SS you do it with the spares you got lying around. In your case it happens to be a 26 V-brake frame , then that is what you must use. There are no rules when building a SS except for it should not have GEARS. 26 Vbrake would be awesome although not as cool as a 26 back pedal setup.

18 will be better . Done it on 16/32 first time as well . It was a long walk . but I suppose it really depends how hard you can crank those pedals and for how long . Last one was on 32/19 and a few places I wished for a 18 but that was only on the first few km's .

Done it a few times on a fixie , really not that bad , but 32/16 now that is just insane .

SBK is good racing . Pity the likes of Ducati , Honda and Yamaha can only build racing bikes and not bikes that you see on the highways . So if you want a sooopa bike that is fast and also handles well get a green one

Rossi knows he does not need to race the youngsters anymore . Just stay close to them . With the fight between Vinnie and Marc heating up , it does leave a door open for Rossi . Zarco also want to join the front runners and he can win races but he will be taking a few riders out on his way to the podium . Cal looks very good but needs more support . Lorenzo did not impress much despite his desperate attempts in the first few corners . I think Rossi may just be standing at the top come end of this season .
