BB and crankset options and clarification

Morning hubbers. Am busy with a new build, and am toying with a couple of options on the crank. Wanted to clarify something WRT to my setup and also get some opinions on experience with the different options. The frame is a PF BB30 (which is apparently different from a PF30 - found this while googling - http://wheelsmfg.com/bb30-vs-pf30)

My previous ride had a 1x setup which I'd like to keep, but thinking about a change in crankset.

From what I understand, I can get a PF BB30 bottom bracket which would be compatible with native BB30 cranksets (30mm spindle diameter). Alternatively, I'd need to get a BB with adapter for other cranks (for 22mm / 24mm spindle).

If i wanted to keep my NW chainring (104 bcd), then that might be limiting in terms of crank options, right? I've seen bb30 SRAM carbon cranks with the right BCD, and this looks like a great option over an SLX / XT crankset

What other options would work well? Anyone got something compatible lying in their cupboard / garage that's gathering dust?
