That said Raptor, they dont have to treat new customers like K@!. I.might not be an experienced rider, and might not have the dough falling out my pockets, but i receive better service form Neils wheels and he explains things to the wife. I have 3 bikes that i bought elsewhere, because they did not want to assist and also inflated thier prices like an a balloon! Their bike service is not the same too, since their mechanic left and started his own store Caledonion cycles. Great service, good products for the MR & Mrs weekend warrior and kids (x3)!

Very simple recipe guys…

Do you want SERVICE or PRICE?

You most certainly not get both in this world

If you want the best price, don’t worry about the service. Negotiate well & move on!

In this instance, who cares about a Bike Mechanic, the buyer isn’t even near CT

How people manager their STAFF… who cares… (Not being negative, we should all mind our own business & let Business Operators manage theirs)

If were think we can do better, go open a Bike Shop & be HR specialist

I walk into Bridge & have reservation of how they run but actually it not my business

I want a product, they have it, I get a price, I like the price & pay for it… move on

As far as warranties etc., no one that in know has had issues with them on this

Not even with the whole Spez thing

We can all name & shame many bike shops across the country but in the same token, these same outlet will receive praise from many other Huber’s (each unto he’s/her own)

So… back to basics, Yes, Bridge are legit… you can negotiate for Price (they are generally good on price) & they keep loaded of stock

What is your affiliation to BC?About two years ago I went to the shop as a complete noob (still a noob!) wanting to buy a MTB. I did some research on the Hub (is the Hub areliable source?) and it seems most potential buyers wanted 29'ers.The manager at BC told me that 26ers are the way to go! When I told himthat my "HUB research" indicated otherwise, he gave a wry smile and moved to another side of the shop.I felt he was trying to mislead me and exploit my ignorance as apotential buyer!Left a bitter taste in my mouth and has not been back since.Maybe I'm just sensitive but no one is taking me for a "ride"

I have no affiliation other than being a regular customer for over 25 years.

2 years ago 29ers were all the rage but in Cape town and amongst tokai riders the debate was much of a muchness. The 26er still had a huge following with loads of people still wanting them, especially newbies looking for good deals on older stock.

Bridge follows thehubsa.Co.za discussions and they see the positive and negative comments as well as the out of context one sided situational rants that get posted here as Gospel truth because it's on thehubsa.Co.za.

So when you mention to anyone at bc that you did your research on thehubsa.Co.za yes you're going to get raised eye brows and Rye smiles.

In fact you'll likely get this at most cycle shops.

You see although distributors and stores see the value in engaging with the market on social media they also see the problems that arises with this.

This ranges from misinformation on social media to downright vindictiveness because a customer didn't get their way.

I've been witness to some really strange customer behaviour in many stores.

I know many mechanics at the stores, distributors and manufacturer's who read what is being said on social media and know it's down right wrong but don't engage in discussion because they know he with the most posts is godlike and cannot be doubted or cross questioned. He must abide by the biding of the king poster.

Also anything that is posted by a shop, distributor or manufacturer is immediately viewed as exploitive and in need of intense market scrutiny.

Anyone running their own businesses doesn't have the time for that sort of drivel.

So maybe that clears up the smile and the walk to the other side of the floor. Everyone knows that what's is posted on the hub must be abided by.
