Schwalbe Racing Ralph question

I have fitted Racing Ralph's to my bike.

They are fast rolling but the front is not that grippy on anything except hard surfaces.

I can use the front tyre as a spare for the rear.

What tyre from Schwalbe would work better on the front for a wide variety of riding without adding too much more weight?

I was thinking of Schwalbe Nobby Nic as it weighs just 650grams for snakeskin version.

I use Nobby Nic front and the Racing Ralph back, on my HT, and i am very happy with this combination for almost 1700km on different trails in various weather.

For XC i run the following. In the wet I run Nobby Nic front and Rocket Ron back. In the dry I run the Ron in front and a Ralph in the back. Don't know about the new Nic yet, it seems a little chunky for the an XC front.

What pressure are you running on the RR's? I've found out the hard way that too much pressure firms up the tire and therefor reduces the grip - also with Racing Ralphs. I brought the pressure down to between 1.6 and 1.8 and found that it made quite a difference.

Rocket Ron front for XC, Ralph back. BuyCycle.co.za even sells it as a set like that. I currently have a Ron at the back as well, but it's getting chowed.
