XT crank ratio change

Hi

 

i currently run a 26/38 with my XT crank and XT front derailer.

Can i change to a 26/40 ?

any advice or comments appreciated.

Yes you can, the 40 is nice for the dirt roadie flats.

I however changed my 26 to a 28 so mine essentially was a 40/28... bled a little on some climbs at Joberg2c but it was managable.
