I have the Ultegra 6800 compact crank on my Propel.

I run qrings but before I buy the qrings is it worth sticking with Shimano?

The new cranks are 4 bolts so if I buy qrings I will have to run Shimano for the next couple of years or should buy a normal 5 bolt crank.

I would like to go lighter not heavier.

I want to replace my bb bearings to ceramic and for that I must go with the rotor 3d24. They don't stock bb24 to bb30 ceramic converter.

In short yes unless there is something else in the market maybe a carbon crank some where?

I would get the full Rotor setup then. Keep the Ultegra if you can as you can always resell bike with it or the groupset. Luckily if you wanna switch to Sram you could use same rings. For Campy the bolt circle will be different though.

If it was Campy I would only replace rings. On the 2015 Campy the arms can be used with standard and compact Campy rings. I don't think Rotor has made rings available yet. The older Campy had different bolt circles for compact and standard. If you really want to be technical compare the crankarm weights to that of Rotor. For Sram and Shimano I would go full Rotor setup.

Rotor has a USBB ( universal bottom bracket ) that can adapt to most BB's so using it with other frames in future is possible. Personally I don't like the look of Shimano cranks and the Rotor should be lighter as well.
