Then where do you join up?  Umhlanga Rocks drive is not a good idea?

Ride back past the Green Hub route?  Not a good idea because of the many people staying in the bush along the river. How does one link up on the way to Umhlanga?

It seems the Green Hub is going to suffer because it is on a marked "Muggers route"

Boards need to go up warning others.  This is a Municipal obligation to warn others.  Just like they do with traffic signs.

Anthrax bombs or petrol bombs is the way to go.

These thieving scumbags and WE do nothing about it.

as you get to top of hill after bridge there is a one way road ( for cars ) but you can take it then right again a Tjunction then left then right and you are back down to by PnP,,,bit of a schlep but safer i think

yes correct if you take that first right down, or you can carry on straight and go down further on and end up going down Old Mill way.  i actuually normally do this as it is a quieter road than fairway past the hyper etc..

Yup - definitely better than the M4 bridge route.

I take a left before you get to Afrikaans Hoer, ride past the Riverside astro, second  right,  down and turn left at the japanese gardens.

Brings you to Old Mill way - a much quieter route

Please give more details. I cross that bridge almost every day. Sounds like it's on the Northern (P&P) side of the bridge. How many thugs? Did they carry weapons and what weapons if so? What kind of bike was taken? Is your friend male or female? It is really not that difficult to organize a "tea-party"  amongst a few Hubbers. We will all benefit if an impromptu visit is organized down at the short gravel road by the bush. Six or seven riders bashing with sticks into the bush might just change their point of view. In the meantime it will be a good idea to warn cyclist (bmo signage at the other end), to cross the bridge in numbers. I will phone around today and get a few stickers printed for the south side. This kind of thing just wakes up the wrong emotions in people.

As tempting as it is, a 'tea-party' is not the solution. There must be upward of 100 people living in that bush. 5 or so riders taking to the bush to flush these scum out can turn very nasty very quickly. The other thing is that every bleeding heart has a smart phone and before you know it you will have social media going viral that some racist, elite cyclists attack poor, unarmed homeless beggars.

My 6'4" son was mugged at that very spot earlier this year and it prompted a bit of a 'clean up' but bugger all since then. He fought the three bastards off until they produced a knife and slashed his rucksack off his back.

wow really that many living in there. i have seen, when riding through there on a Green Corridor organised ride about a dozen or so but that's all and that was some time back.

Agree with you though i has to be done properly by authorities and we all know that,s not going to happen.

there is stopping these people...just read the newspaper another women raped by 2 BM...but thats not all they all threw in a 3 hours torture session using an iron... and thats not all they also decided a good stabbing would also be included...lucky it was just a farmer...so its not that bad there wont be a a world wide outcry or riots in LA or anything as dramatic :( at least it got a headline in the paper...its an improvement...

normally a farmer torture...stabbing and raping story doesnt even make it to the news.
