Sigh, I have been here although not recently with a bicycle (it was laptops etc).

I agree with HayleyEarth.  The guy/s will come back on consecutive nights! Fix any areas where your fence or house is vulnerable (thorn bushes, razor wire whatever).  Internal gates are good for keeping intruders away from you and as a second line of defence.  Burglar guards not so much; many fail after a brisk kicking. The thieves are incredibly agile (I'm betting most would fail a dope test  ) so low tree branches, gates etc need looking at.

If you have an alarm, thieves will rely on getting in, snatching and running before anyone responds. Keep valuables tucked away and internal gates locked at night and when away.

Be especially vigilant if you have builders, painters, whatever working on your unit or nearby.  My suggestion if you are having work done, get a lie detector test on the workers. Plenty are skelms looking for a gap; their employer lie about them. I learnt this in hard hindsight.

Crime is never your fault unless you are a criminal.

Leaving your bikes in the grage is like inviting robbers in. This is SA if you leave your bikes in the garage it will get stolen I thought everyone knew this.

Pretty sure 90% of people store bikes in a garage..

And 90% of thefts are from garages. If you read this and store your bike in the garage let it be known that it is very likely to be stolen.
