Snapped derailleur hanger on 2004 Giant TCR

I snapped my rear deraileur hanger on my 2004 Giant TCR this evening. I tried fitting a spare one I have from an old Merida but the shape of the hanger isn't quite the same so the wheel axle doesn't slot in. Do you have to get a hanger specific to that model or are there generic ones that'll fit?

best is to take your old broken one to your LBS that have been stocking Giant for that long and see if they have one in a box. And yes all the different makes and models all have different ones. Try see if later models did not use the same...
